The B-52s' Top 10 single "Love Shack" depicts a raucous Georgia roadhouse where the party never stops and anything goes.
The song opens with flamboyant frontman Fred Schneider declaring, "If you see a faded sign by the side of the road that says fifteen miles to the..." and bandmate Kate Pierson chimes in, "love shack!" But he never finishes his thought.
Fred, it's been almost twenty years. So if you see the faded sign, then what?

I'm pretty sure ol' Fred was saying the Love Shack was 15 miles away, but then Kate P. swooped in and finished his part for him. Kinda like in that "You F*cking Die" song from SURFER ROSA where 'Charles' finishes Kim Deal's part for her. But dude. What else would be 15 miles away in that song, the nearest Piggledy-Wiggledy?
And speaking of a real lotta years, though less than two hours remain in it, today is Ben Bass' birthday. 21 years old -- he can drink legally in most states, if not all fifty! Huzzah!
